Mike Neaves and James Duffy after Completing the Deer Fence

Completing the Deer Fence

We are looking for people to help with the 2015 season.  At the beginning of the season, we are looking for someone with some experience with farming or gardening to help us get off to a good start.  The early work of the season will be involve a lot of bed preparation (including the use of the flame weeder and one-row seeder) and work with transplants (including making and caring for soil blocks and seedlings, setting up trellises for tomatoes, and transplanting into the field.)

Throughout the season, we always benefit from the enthusiasm and labor of people interested in learning about small-scale farming, without the use of synthetic herbicides, pesticides, or fertilizers.  We are happy to teach you what we have learned from five years of experience, and give you a chance to practice with the tools of the trade and become familiar with the work and ideas involved.  We make use of a wide variety of tools, and grow a wide variety of crops.  The internship’s activity will depend on the time of season, intensity of involvement, and interest of the intern.

Please contact us with any questions.  If you are interested in applying, please send us 1) a curriculum vitae, 2) a brief explanation of what you are looking to get out of the internship, and 3) at least two references.  We will try to get back with you within two weeks.
